While turmeric may offer a natural solution for those looking to combat hair loss, it’s important to also consider the potential dangers of blocking too much dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body.
DHT is a hormone that plays a vital role in the development of male characteristics such as facial and body hair growth, muscle mass, and a deep voice. However, it is also responsible for male pattern baldness.
Blocking too much DHT can have a number of negative effects on the body. Physically, it can cause decreased muscle mass, decreased body and facial hair growth, and an increased risk of osteoporosis. Physiologically, it can cause a decrease in libido and erectile dysfunction.
But it’s not just the physical effects that we need to be concerned about. The psychological effects of blocking too much DHT can also be severe. Men may feel less masculine and experience depression and anxiety as a result.
It’s important to note that DHT blockers are not recommended for all men and should only be used under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Medications that block the production of DHT can also have side effects such as decreased sex drive, impotence, and decreased sperm production.
